Information We Collect

We collect nothing. CoolBear: Daily Radar operates without user accounts, sign-up screens or logins of any kind. We do not ask for and never receive your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP address or payment details.

We also do not collect your geolocation. The app does not request GPS access, does not derive your position in the background, and does not build a location history. Every city on your list is one you typed in yourself, and that list stays on your device.

Everything you enter or configure inside the app — saved cities and favourite locations, temperature units (°C or °F), wind and pressure units, radar layer choices, map zoom and pan positions, widget layouts, chart ranges you open in Climate Archives, and any alert thresholds you set — is written only to local storage on your own device. None of it is transmitted to us, because there is no "us" on the receiving end: we run no user database.

How We Use Information

Because no personal information reaches us, there is nothing for us to use, analyse, profile, rent, sell or share. We do not build behavioural profiles, we do not score users, and we do not feed your activity into advertising or recommendation systems.

Your settings are used for exactly one purpose, and only on your handset: to render the forecast, radar view, tracker zones, widgets and archive charts the way you configured them. That processing happens on-device, in the app's own sandbox, and stops the moment you close the app.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally, inside the private application container that your operating system assigns to CoolBear. We operate no user accounts, no cloud sync, no backup service and no server-side profile store. There is no remote copy of your city list, your widget setup or your preferences.

Local data persists only for as long as the app is installed. It is never mirrored to an external location, never queued for upload, and never bundled into diagnostic packages sent to us.

Third-Party Services

CoolBear: Daily Radar contains no third-party analytics frameworks, no advertising networks, no attribution or install-tracking SDKs, no crash-reporting services that transmit personal data, no social login providers and no embedded trackers, beacons or pixels.

No outside company is given access to your usage of the app, and no partner receives a feed of your activity, because that feed does not exist. Meteorological content is presented within the app itself; your identity is never attached to what you view.

Data Security

The strongest protection we can offer is architectural: data that is never collected cannot be breached, subpoenaed, leaked or resold. By keeping every preference on your device, we remove the central honeypot that most apps create.

On top of that, local storage is protected by your operating system's standard app sandboxing and device-level encryption, which are governed by your own passcode or biometric lock. Keeping your device updated and secured is the most effective step you can take to protect the information held there.

Children's Privacy

CoolBear: Daily Radar is safe for users of every age. We do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from anyone, and that includes children under the age of 13. There is no registration, no profile, no messaging, no user-generated content and no behavioural advertising anywhere in the app.

Because no personal data is gathered from any user, the app is aligned with the intent of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable regulations elsewhere. Parents and guardians can allow the app to be used without needing to manage consent flows or data-deletion requests, since nothing is ever collected in the first place.

Your Control

You hold complete control at all times. You can add or remove tracked cities, change units, reconfigure widgets, reset radar layers and clear archive views whenever you like, directly inside the app.

To remove all app data permanently, simply uninstall CoolBear: Daily Radar. Deleting the app erases its local container and every preference stored inside it. There are no cloud backups, no linked accounts and no residual copies held anywhere else — so there is nothing left for you to request, and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new app features, technical changes or updated legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date shown at the top of this page, and the updated version will replace this one here.

Our core commitment will not change quietly: if a future release ever alters how information is handled, we will state it plainly rather than bury it. We encourage you to review this page occasionally so you always know where things stand.
